Becoming Catholic

Striving to be a sacramental community, we encourage the reception of the sacraments of the Catholic Church.

The usual process for an adult to become a Catholic is through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). This process lasts almost a year through which a person studies the Scriptures and teachings of the Church with the assistance of a mentor and with a number of celebrations along the way. It culminates in Baptism (or Reception into the Church, if a person has been baptised previously) at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday Night. Please contact the Parish Priest to discuss this.
