Priests of the Parishes of City South

George and Fumi's Wedding

Everyone around Our Lady of Mount Carmel knows George because of his big smile and wiliness to help. Often one can see him around on Saturday mornings assisting with the church cleaning, sweeping and watering. He came as a refugee from South Sudan and became part of the parish family of families about ten years ago. He has overcome many difficulties. But by studying hard he can read and write and has become an Australian citizen. He met Fulmilola (from Nigeria) and they fell in love. So on Sunday 17th September, they were married here where George has always said among his family. It was a simple, gentle and dignified ceremony. Afterwards, there was a small reception in our gathering place to which all were invited.

The ladies of Salome's Kitchen catered, decorated and made a spectacular cake which George and Fumie cut amidst much toasting and laughter. Fumie found time to cook a couple of delicious dishes which added to the array of food that catered for every taste. The occasion was matched by the weather. All said that it was a wonderful occasion and will remain a special memory in the life of our family of families.

May Fumie and George continue to grace us with their love in their life together.

Christmas Raffle 2017

First Holy Communion 2017

Our First Holy Communion programme is over for another year. It is a wonderful sign of the continued growth of our family of families. Six families presented their child for the Sacrament. We thank them for living up to the promises they made at their child's Baptism and acknowledge their prime role in the education of their children. The journey of faith continues so our prayers for them ought to continue.

We remember and thank also our teachers and all those who contributed to the celebrations from the students of our school who helped with the banners to our Family Educators who provided her expertise and the morning tea celebrating our children's growth in the knowledge of God and practice faiths. THANK YOU.

May you all have a safe, restful and enjoyable holiday! The banners will be taken down and out away but please remember in your prayers all who participated and assisted.
